MINI Excursion 4

Hello again... Few things going on at the moment. I didn't have time to put it up in my blog but I intend to. Currently my passion towards my MINI are at it's peak. I have this 1974 1000 Austin Mini restored and converted to 1275 fuel injection block.... I installed a GPS unit/Media player for entertainment thus I have been thinking of things to do or go as part of our excursion with it. Family fun MINI Excursion... Since it will be a continuous kind of thing we will number it just to keep track of how many we had...

I'm so lucky to have a very understanding and supportive wife. What's best she appreciate the kind of things we do together... Last weekend we had our 4th excursion. We end up at Tekala Fall, Semenyih. Very fun and interesting ride indeed.

Tekala Fall it's about 10 minutes drive from Semenyih Town. It's a little less than an hour from my place. Upon reaching the Tekala Fall... we head up a little bit further to see the Semenyih Dam. WoW... what a supprise... the place was very nice surrounded by unspoiled pristine jungle. The Dam was huge and very scenic. I didn't know place like this exist near my place. We saw a few nice fishing resort along the way too. It's so tempting not to stop and to try it out... maybe some other time as we weren't prepare for it.

I know many already know about this place but for us family it's out first time there. My first impression judging by the number of cars park near the entrance it will be packed of people. To our surprise it wasn't. Maybe because of the long stretch of the river making it looking less crowded. Entrance fee is RM1 for an adult and RM0.50 for a child. I think it's worth the fees looking at it the place is well taken care of except for the toilet near the pool. About 50 meters from the entrance there are 2 pools for visitor to enjoy. The upper pool is for kids and it's only about knee deep. The second pool there are few spots where the dept is chest deep. The only thing spoiling the deep pool was it's full of huge jagged rock. You can seriously hurt yourself if not careful.

We sat up a tent and had our packed lunch before we hit the water. The water was nice, cool and clear. Kids really enjoyed it. I believe there was a fall further up but didn't get a chance to go and see it.

Around 4pm it started to rain so we packed up and left. Had some ice cream too before we hit the road. Was a little surprise when we saw few horse running freely near the road. (click here for video clip) It's like some western country side or something... he he he...

Oh well... Journey back kids were mostly asleep and was raining... Nice.... nice... there was nothing like driving a MINI in the rain.....

Here's some of the pictures of our 4th MINI Excursion.

Kayns Resort, Port Dickson

Friday, 26th of Febuary me and my family head out to Kayns Resort in PD. We were joined by few of the VOCM family and friends. Because this outing was short notice and unplanned I didn't expect much. To me as long as my kids were happy I'm happy.

Like I mention in my earlier posting I have never stayed at this resort before and everything was new to me. My first impression was hmmm.. it's not bad. The lobby was nice and at the center of the building was the swimming pool. The room was alright except that the bed could have been better. It's a small 3 star resort I guess. This place is somewhat secluded and I think is a perfect place for a quiet getaway. How to get there... hmmm.. ok if you're coming from Telok Kemang towards Pasir Panjang you will see Ancasa Resort on your left. There's a road next to it. Just follow this road about few hundred meters and you'll see Kayns Resort on your left.

After settling down I went down to have some manly chat with Sheron that was when my wife called and told me that she couldn't handle the kids anymore as they were too anxious to play pool. Oh well.... come on down kids!!!! The rest of the evening the kids were in the pool followed by the rest.

Just before the sunset all of us headed down to the beach for a swim but we wound up hiring a Banana Boat. 2 trips an all. We negotiated to have the ride all the way to Telok Kemang and back. Was it fun or what!... ohhhhh that was the highlight of the day for me.. The only regret I had was I didn't get to enjoy the beach. From the look of it.. the beach was flawless.. Water was clear the waves were just nice... oh well maybe next time...

Later that evening all of us went to Medan Ikan Bakar Pasir Panjang. The place was about 15 minutes from the resort. Food was great especially the Nasi Lemak Bungkus and the SAMBAL. It was soo delicious that I had 2 bungkus of it. I think our friend Wakiki had 4 or maybe 5. From the dining area we can see people fishing on the jetty next to it. Great setting..

The next day everybody had their own agenda to attend to. Some left right after breakfast but me, sheron and zali stayed until check out time. Kids continued enjoying the pool.

Hope everyone enjoy this little outing as me and my family did. Till the next trip... adios..

Special thanks to Naza, Zali, Sheron, Dzul and Wakiki
