uhh...... hmmm.... ahhh!!.... huh...

It's been a while since I last update my blog. hmmm Where??... when??... to start.. None Mini Excursion lately.. but I guess one of my long lost hobby recently resurface again.

FISH or NOT to FISH... that is the question.

If you look at my Facebook.. all recent pictures somehow connected to either fish or rod. None about cars/restorations/repairs/trips as it used to.... Friends has been asking where the hell am I and now they know..

I don't remember exactly when the last time I fish other than playfishing when I went back to my in-law. I used to have this kaki who always inviting me to some sorts of fishing activities like pond fishing, lake.. or even some 4days 3 nite trips until he went into coma few years back. After.... none..

It started again

Let me recall how it all started AGAIN hmm.... Mr. Naza. A fellow friends who I had had some business deal with, which went south for some reason. At first I was just try to divert some of the stress which I think it did help me much soaking up the impact of stress, One was having some chronic gastric and insomnia as the cause.

TACKLES

Tackles has been collecting dust for quite some time now. Lately it became shining again...

to be continued..

MINI Excursion 4

Hello again... Few things going on at the moment. I didn't have time to put it up in my blog but I intend to. Currently my passion towards my MINI are at it's peak. I have this 1974 1000 Austin Mini restored and converted to 1275 fuel injection block.... I installed a GPS unit/Media player for entertainment thus I have been thinking of things to do or go as part of our excursion with it. Family fun MINI Excursion... Since it will be a continuous kind of thing we will number it just to keep track of how many we had...

I'm so lucky to have a very understanding and supportive wife. What's best she appreciate the kind of things we do together... Last weekend we had our 4th excursion. We end up at Tekala Fall, Semenyih. Very fun and interesting ride indeed.

Tekala Fall it's about 10 minutes drive from Semenyih Town. It's a little less than an hour from my place. Upon reaching the Tekala Fall... we head up a little bit further to see the Semenyih Dam. WoW... what a supprise... the place was very nice surrounded by unspoiled pristine jungle. The Dam was huge and very scenic. I didn't know place like this exist near my place. We saw a few nice fishing resort along the way too. It's so tempting not to stop and to try it out... maybe some other time as we weren't prepare for it.

I know many already know about this place but for us family it's out first time there. My first impression judging by the number of cars park near the entrance it will be packed of people. To our surprise it wasn't. Maybe because of the long stretch of the river making it looking less crowded. Entrance fee is RM1 for an adult and RM0.50 for a child. I think it's worth the fees looking at it the place is well taken care of except for the toilet near the pool. About 50 meters from the entrance there are 2 pools for visitor to enjoy. The upper pool is for kids and it's only about knee deep. The second pool there are few spots where the dept is chest deep. The only thing spoiling the deep pool was it's full of huge jagged rock. You can seriously hurt yourself if not careful.

We sat up a tent and had our packed lunch before we hit the water. The water was nice, cool and clear. Kids really enjoyed it. I believe there was a fall further up but didn't get a chance to go and see it.

Around 4pm it started to rain so we packed up and left. Had some ice cream too before we hit the road. Was a little surprise when we saw few horse running freely near the road. (click here for video clip) It's like some western country side or something... he he he...

Oh well... Journey back kids were mostly asleep and was raining... Nice.... nice... there was nothing like driving a MINI in the rain.....

Here's some of the pictures of our 4th MINI Excursion.

Kayns Resort, Port Dickson

Friday, 26th of Febuary me and my family head out to Kayns Resort in PD. We were joined by few of the VOCM family and friends. Because this outing was short notice and unplanned I didn't expect much. To me as long as my kids were happy I'm happy.

Like I mention in my earlier posting I have never stayed at this resort before and everything was new to me. My first impression was hmmm.. it's not bad. The lobby was nice and at the center of the building was the swimming pool. The room was alright except that the bed could have been better. It's a small 3 star resort I guess. This place is somewhat secluded and I think is a perfect place for a quiet getaway. How to get there... hmmm.. ok if you're coming from Telok Kemang towards Pasir Panjang you will see Ancasa Resort on your left. There's a road next to it. Just follow this road about few hundred meters and you'll see Kayns Resort on your left.

After settling down I went down to have some manly chat with Sheron that was when my wife called and told me that she couldn't handle the kids anymore as they were too anxious to play pool. Oh well.... come on down kids!!!! The rest of the evening the kids were in the pool followed by the rest.

Just before the sunset all of us headed down to the beach for a swim but we wound up hiring a Banana Boat. 2 trips an all. We negotiated to have the ride all the way to Telok Kemang and back. Was it fun or what!... ohhhhh that was the highlight of the day for me.. The only regret I had was I didn't get to enjoy the beach. From the look of it.. the beach was flawless.. Water was clear the waves were just nice... oh well maybe next time...

Later that evening all of us went to Medan Ikan Bakar Pasir Panjang. The place was about 15 minutes from the resort. Food was great especially the Nasi Lemak Bungkus and the SAMBAL. It was soo delicious that I had 2 bungkus of it. I think our friend Wakiki had 4 or maybe 5. From the dining area we can see people fishing on the jetty next to it. Great setting..

The next day everybody had their own agenda to attend to. Some left right after breakfast but me, sheron and zali stayed until check out time. Kids continued enjoying the pool.

Hope everyone enjoy this little outing as me and my family did. Till the next trip... adios..

Special thanks to Naza, Zali, Sheron, Dzul and Wakiki

Jungle Tracking

A few words regarding jungle tracking. My new project requires me to do some jungle tracking. Lucky for me I had started some outdoor activities such as mountain climbing and jungle tracking about year or so ago. My last hike was up the Gunung Datuk in Rembau April 2009. It's been a while but at least with some basic knowledge I think it won't be as bad. I just need to get my equipments ready and refresh some of the knowledge. One think for sure I won't be tracking alone.

Ad Hoc BBQ Get Together - VOCM Regulars

It started from a Car Club (VOCM). Now few of our families became close. I got a call from Faris on Thursday around lunch time. You guess it.. the regulars were having their lunch at their favorite place TUGU discussing about a BBQ. Finally they decided to have it at my place on Saturday. Well... no objection on my side.. Because this BBQ was short notice we decided to just buy whatever on the day itself. So last Saturday we'd BBQ till late.

On Friday I did some shopping. I went and get some disposable paper plates and some "arang". I went to "kedai borong plastik" near my place after Friday prayer and hoping that they sell "arang" as well as the rest. To my supprise.. well yes they did.. Yeay!.. I didn't have to go to the regular place where I usually get my supply of "arang". I didn't want to.. Two reasons why I didn't want to go the that place, 1st it's still Chinese New Year week and I'm pretty sure the place it's still close. 2nd reason the place is in the middle of town and normally the traffic if quite bad to get there, parking is a pain in the arse!...

ARANG
The only reason why I'd still get it at that Apek's place it's because of the quality of "arang" that they have. Non of that crushed arang. It's big and nicely arrange in a bag. I have yet to see it anywhere else.
Was it my luck or what? I hit a Jackpot of arang at this plastic place! They have the type of "arang" that I've been looking for a while. Manufactured arang tube. From what I heard this type of "arang" is the best. Less ash and last longer. I don't know what it's made off some says it's made of charcoal mixed with "sabut kelapa". Oklaaa whatever... who cares as long as I can use if for BBQ later I'm happy. The extra benefits are just bonus. Because of the last longer quality (which proven later that nite) I bought only 2 bags instead of 4 bags that I normally do. Further more I think I still have 1 bag left from last BBQ.

BBQ Day
Faris as the man who came up with the idea arrived at my place quite early around 2pm. Had a glass of drink before we all head out to get the ration for the nite. First we all headed to the newly open Carrefour near my place. Our main target was to get some Marinated Chicken. Too bad their Carrefour spices supply for the marinated chicken has yet to arrive as told by the sales lady.. so no chicken there. Next stop was the Econsave... and again "Nada".. In the mean time we bought some bags of hot dogs, fries and a 9.3kg melon!.. Yup... a huge one.. as Faris found out when his fingers caught between the melon and the trolley. About the marinated chicken I started to worried a bit at this point but as soon as we got to the GIANT.. There it was!!! Marinated BBQ Chicken! We ended buying the whole stock! Including the all marinated lamb chop which was't that much in the first place.

It was a nice evening accompanied by the nices of friends plus some good foods. What more can you ask for a perfect weekend. Thanks guys for coming! and to the Ladies thank you very much... Love the foods... Faris, Jawa, Azamora, Dzul, Wakiki, Babol, Zali and Naza... Till we meet again..

Monday blues...

Nothing special today except that I need to arrange accommodation for a trip to PD. Called a few hotels none can accommodate us so far is either fully booked or not enough room left. We'll need about 10 rooms at least. One of the choice is Kayns Resort. I heard it's quite a nice quiet place. Personally I never stayed there before only went around the resort a few times and that was it. It looked alright at the time. Not sure now.

When to Ampangan GIANT this morning with wife and my Lil' Princess Emily just to get some household things. We end up having brunch at the new coffee place inside the Plaza itself. Food was alright, nothing to shout about. I had a Beehon Soto for a change rather than the usual "Roti Canai" or "Nasi Lemak". One thing for sure the portions was more than any other place.
GIANT REDEMPTION
Finally today Ain told me we were 1 coupon away from being able to redeem the smallest gift under this redemption program. Hmmm.... RM3.90 + 70 stamps for the 20cm BIALETTI Fry Pan. You'll get 1 coupon for every RM20 of purchase in a single receipt. That means RM20 x 70 stamps = RM1400. WoW I didn't realized we had spent that much at Giant. Well I guess over time eventually it will. Actually I also found a few coupons in my all washed up pants thorn and unusable... plus a few I accidentally lost it.. he he he... so including that we did actually spent quite a number of $$$$ there...

Just one little problem... after my little spending this morning and manage to get the 70th coupon we still end up unable to redeem the gift!!!... ahhh mannn!.... OUT OF STOCK! After all that wait and spending.... what a waste... I should've known better. tak shame.. shame.. as put by my Little Princess. When asked, the lady at the counter said that new stock is coming. There might me some miracle after all.... but I'm doubting it.. What are the chances are, the redemption program is ending soon 25th February only few more days. I don't see any reason why they should get a new stock for it. Well it says the dateline to redeem the gift until 11th March. We'll see...

To Mak Nah hope it's still not too late to wish you Happy Birthday!! The truth is I forgot it was your B'day until Apip mention it this evening.. Wishing you "long long age and cheap cheap source of income!"... he he
