It started from a Car Club (
VOCM). Now few of our families beca
me close. I got a call from Faris on Thursday around lunch time. You guess it.. the regulars were having their lunch at their favorite place TUGU discussing about a BBQ. Finally they decided to have it at my place on Saturday. Well... no objection on my side.. Because this BBQ was short notice we decided to just buy whatever on the day itself. So last Saturday we'd BBQ till late.
On Friday I did some shopping. I went and get some disposable paper plates and some "arang". I went to "kedai borong plastik" near my place after Friday prayer and hoping that they sell "arang" as well as the rest. To my supprise.. well yes they did.. Yeay!.. I didn't have to go to the regular place where I usually get my supply of "arang". I didn't want to.. Two reasons why I didn't want to go the that place, 1st it's still Chinese New Year week and I'm pretty sure the place it's still close. 2nd reason the place is in the middle of town and normally the traffic if quite bad to get there, parking is a pain in the arse!...
ARANGThe only reason why I'd still get it at that Apek's place it's because of the quality of "arang" that they have. Non of that crushed arang. It's big and nicely arrange in a bag. I have yet to see it anywhere else.
Was it my luck or what? I hit a Jackpot of arang at this plastic place! They have the type of "arang" that I've been looking for a while. Manufactured arang tube. From what I heard this type of "arang" is the best. Less ash and last longer. I don't know what it's made off some says it's made of charcoal mixed with "sabut kelapa". Oklaaa whatever... who cares as long as I can use if for BBQ later I'm happy. The extra benefits are just bonus. Because of the last longer quality (which proven later that nite) I bought only 2 bags instead of 4 bags that I normally do. Further more I think I still have 1 bag left from last BBQ.
BBQ DayFaris as the man who came up with the idea arrived at my place quite early around 2pm. Had a glass of drink before we all head out to get the ration for the nite. First we all headed to the newly open Carrefo
ur near my place. Our main target was to get some Marinated Chicken. Too bad their Carrefour spices supply for the marinated chicken has yet to arrive as told by the sales lady.. so no chicken there. Next stop was the Econsave... and again "
Nada".. In the mean time we bought some bags of
hot dogs, fries and a 9.3kg melon!.. Yup... a huge one.. as Faris found out when his fingers caught between the melon and the trolley. About the marinated chicken I started to worried a bit at this point but as soon as we got to the GIANT.. There it was!!! Marinated BBQ Chicken! We ended buying the whole stock! Including the all marinated lamb chop which was't that much in the first place.
It was a nice evening accompanied by the nices of friends plus some good foods. What more can you ask for a perfect weekend. Thanks guys for coming! and to the Ladies thank you very much... Love the foods... Faris, Jawa, Azamora, Dzul, Wakiki, Babol, Zali and Naza... Till we meet again..
